“Our 6-year-old son has been supported by Heather for the last academic year. He was using various short cuts to form cursive letters which was making his handwriting illegible. Whilst he enjoyed reading, he was quick to feel frustration due to challenges decoding unfamiliar words and tracking text.

He is now able to read his own handwriting, which has been a big confidence boost and is unlocking his spelling and creative writing. He’s developed the tools which enable him to seek out more challenging books, but most importantly he is incredibly happy and engaged by his tutoring sessions.

He was quick to insist the session length be increased to an hour, and he can’t wait to share what he’s been working on and the progress he’s making. He willingly engages with his homework on Nessy and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Heather and her fun, inspiring, and confidence building services.”

“The assessment process was straightforward and followed up by a very detailed report. Heather made the time to talk us through it and we were left with a clear understanding of our child’s needs and next steps. Heather is easy to talk to and a true professional.  She understands the concerns of parents and how to help children to achieve their full potential. Heather makes all of her sessions hands on and engaging and my daughter has grown dramatically in confidence and ability. We couldn’t be happier.”

My daughter had her assessment with Heather, and then continued with tutoring.  Heather was able to clearly identify what help she needed and incorporate this into her tutoring. It was really nice to finally find someone that totally understood my daughter and was able to help. She really enjoyed the sessions which helped her grow in confidence and ability at school.  My youngest also attended tutoring with Heather which definitely boosted her at school.

“"My husband and I are so happy with the work Heather has done for our daughter. Our daughter was falling behind at school due to her dyslexia and Heather was recommended to us. Heather was able to very quickly build rapport with our daughter and understand the best way of supporting her. Instead of simply force feeding the syllabus, Heather took a step back to see where she needed the support and then spent her efforts where they were needed most. As an example of this, our daughter had developed new ways of reading, essentially by remembering words rather than actually using phonics to read words. Without making her feel like she was going backwards, Heather started at the beginning recorrecting her process and did it in such a fun way using very visual aids not to mention a noisy drum kit!

Not only has Heather helped our daughter with her confidence and reading / maths skills, she gave us such good advice about the schooling system and how we can best to support her education. Thank you, Heather, very much! You are amazing.” :)

Heather has been tutoring my daughter for a year, and the progress has been truly remarkable. My daughter faces unique learning challenges due to her special needs, but Heather has a remarkable ability to connect with her and facilitate her learning.

Heather’s exceptional care, patience, and understanding have gone above and beyond our expectations.

“Heather has undertaken several assessments for parents at our school. She places a high value on liaison with all parties and in her recommendations, Heather acknowledges what is already taking place effectively in the school. This means the report is a relevant and effective resource.”
